A man in a restaurant asked a waiter for a juice glass, a dinner plate, water, a match, and a lemon wedge. The man poured enough water onto the plate to cover it. "If you can get the water on the plate into this glass without touching or moving this plate, I will give you $100," the man said. "You can use the match and lemon to do this.” A few minutes later, the waiter walked away with $100 in his pocket.
How did the waiter get the water into the glass?
Hint: The glass will be upside-down when the water is in it.

The Stanford Atom Project
Model (100 points)
The model may be made out of any material such as food, paper, beads, wire, Styrofoam, etc. You are strongly encouraged to make your model with recycled materials. It should have the correct number of protons, neutrons, and electrons. The electrons should be smaller than the protons and neutrons and should be in rings or on sticks (shorter sticks would indicate inner rings). The model should be securely put together and be colorful and attractive. It must be able to hang from the ceiling.
Hanging from your atom must be a sign with the following information:
- symbol box (name, atomic number, atomic mass, symbol for element)
- key for color of protons, neutrons, and electrons & the number of each
- your name and period
The following images should help give you an idea of what to build:
